25th anniversary highlights on TodayFM

As part of their Christmas programming, Today FM aired highlights from all 3 of The Frames’ Irish anniversary gigs from the summer. On an administrative note: Did you know this site turned 5 years old this month?! We’re so happy about all the folks who’ve enjoyed it all these years, it’s been nice meeting so many of you.

In the past we’ve endeavored to post news here for every current Frames band member as it arises, but from now on we’ll focus on just Frames news. Band member news can be found at their respective websites. Also, keep an eye on our twitter & facebook pages as those will continue to go on with news about everyone. We WILL continue to log GH gig pages & press and Colm gigs & press.

Summer Round-Up

After playing Electric Picnic, Colm will be visiting New York City in September and Melbourne in October to support his album And Now The Weather (Agus Anois An Aimsir)! Order the album, see all of his tour dates and more Colm news at his website www.colmmacconiomaire.com.

Glen’s second album Didn’t He Ramble will be released on September 18 through ANTI- with European & North American tours October & November. You can pre-order the album and watch videos for the first 2 singles “Winning Streak” and “Lowly Deserter” at www.glenhansardmusic.com. Myles O’Reilly & his team made the “Lowly Deserter” video as well as this trailer for the album.

Longitude Out Today!

It’s The Frames “Longitude” CD release day in Ireland! CD can be found in shops with Vinyl out on 2 July. Digital becomes available worldwide on 10 July with CD/Vinyl worldwide 31 July. There’s also Mail Order online c/o Irish Music Mail for everyone today. All details & links can be found below and here.

The Frames Songbook

frames-songbook-cover-smallCool news for the folks attending this July’s Frames gigs!

Through the frames 25 years, they’ve always been very lucky to work alongside some fantastic photographers and artists. It seemed like a good time to put together a songbook of 30 of our favourite songs, alongside images – many previously unseen – from their whole career. The tabulation pages were designed by Dunk Murphy to specifically reflect glens personal guitar fingering and a companion page accompanying each song has been selected by our very close artistic cohort David Cleary who himself has been around the band since way, way back in the day…..again, we hope you like it as much as we do…..

We’ve only done a small run of these books and they will be available at the shows in July.  If we have any left then we will sell them through the frames web store. frames_songbook_page
