Weekly Update // 3 Feb.

February 3, 2011

Has it been another week already? Can’t say we’re sad to see January go!

We’ve made a page for the site over at Facebook where we’ll post about updates and sometimes favorite bits from the site to spice up your workday (that’s what FB’s for right?). So if you’re already there why not give us a thumbs up!

Since 2011 is the 10th anniversary of the release of For The Birds we’ve set up a little page for it featuring some press and photos (by the awesome Patrick Glennon) from the time. Quite notably we’ve posted wonderful documentation by Donal Scannell of the day the band got their finished copies of the record and performed at a cafe in Dublin. If you haven’t seen these videos it’s well worth your time to check them out.

Our friend Andrea chose Red Chord for the latest selection on the Jukebox.

We have a few bits from the Swell Season’s performance at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival this past weekend.

A couple of lovely photos and 2 videos of Colm at Sutherland Entertainment Centre in Sydney, AU. Also reviews from two other AU shows Sydney and Melbourne.

An Aug ’10 interview with Colm at The Ruckus

A fan’s set list from the stage at RDS 30 Aug 2003.

3 videos from 10 Sept ’07 in NYC at Webster Hall – Lay Me Down, What Happens When The Heart Just Stops, Star Star

5 videos from this amazing show 6 Sept. ’07 in LA at the Henry Fonda Theatre – Stars Are Underground, Fake, Falling Slowly, People Get Ready & Where Is My Mind

Video of Santa Maria on 5 Oct. ’06 in Cork at the Everyman Theatre.

Video of People Get Ready on 31 Oct. ’07 in Dublin.

To close, we’re encouraging folks to continue to send stuff in! If you know someone who is a fan but may not know about the site, please fill them in. We’d love more stuff that we just won’t find online…you know, those boxes or notebooks of old rock and roll stuff from your wayward youth you have stashed away somewhere. Bring them into the light!

Thanks and have a super cool weekend!

ODi’s ‘One In A Million’

Colm is featured on the song One In A Million by fellow Irish musician ODi. Have a listen & watch at the (Colm-less) video.

Weekly Update

January 27, 2011

This week we’ve set up a section called Video Series. For now we’re featuring 3 series of videos by the fantastic Donal Scannell: Witness 2001 (which has been on our site), songs by the Valmez Campfire in 2001, and set of songs performed in the Uhls Sauna Session. Donal is a long time documentarian of the band and we’re ecstatic to have him as part of our site!

In addition we have a new page called Live Recordings. This is just a handy list of bootlegs available in various places online as at this point in time we don’t plan on hosting them ourselves.

On to the other updates:

We’ve added a couple more Glen dates in NYC in February and more setlists throughout.

There’s a bunch of previews/reviews/interviews from Colm’s stint in Australia this month including a radio interview with ABC Radio. Check them out here on Colm’s gig page.

Hi all!
We’re happy to note that it’s already our 1 month birthday and we have yet another mega update for you! Before the list of handy links to the new goodies, we have an extra special update to mention first. If you haven’t heard of or seen Zoran Orlic and his grand book about The Frames, now’s your chance! Zoran has graciously shared select photos and excerpts from his 2006 ode to our favorite band. We are honored and super stoked to bring these gorgeous photos to you, but these are just a part of what is in the book. So many great stories and photos, it’s a must have for any Frames fan, especially those of you who spend a lot of time on this site. So go check it out and please let us or Zoran know what you think! In addition to the new section, we are also now featuring some of Zoran’s photos on the homepage!
