Colm recently did an interview with Raidio Na Life. It’s in Gaelic so we don’t know what they’re talking about aside from Dylan’s 70th birthday. Anyone feel free to send along a translation of the interview. Listen here at Soundcloud.
Weekly Update // 26 May
We can’t believe a week has already gone by since last time. Time flies when your kids are sick/almost out of school/have the finally warm weather crazies? Who knows. We almost weren’t even sure that we’d get any updates done, especially since Jenn knocked the site offline yesterday for a few hours, oops (which reminds us to remind you to follow us on Twitter or Facebook just in case)! We rallied the troops and were able to get some goodies posted up though, so here ya go…
+ new Glen solo date added– he’ll be opening for Jake Clemons at Whelans on 7 June.
+ added a scanned ticket from the For The Birds anniversary gig. we love artifacts!
+ finally scanned my copy of the Hot Press special edition from February featuring Glen on the cover (photo by Zoran Orlic) and a great interview about his last 20 years playing music. The interview was conducted while The Frames were in the States in November.
+ Joe & Glen do an acoustic version of Falling Slowly for an RTE2 pre-show thing at Electric Picnic back in Sept.
+ 2 videos of The Frames doing the elevator thing for 3Voor12 in Utrecht in 2007
+ 5 Dutch gig reviews/articles added: 23 June 2007 at Tivoli, 2 Nov 2006, 8 Feb 2007, and 30 Dec 2005 & 31 Jan 2007 both added to Press page
Cheers to those of you who are going to see Glen (and Mark Geary we think!?) tonight at the MET in NYC! We have a 3 day weekend coming up in the States, so good times to those of you who get to participate in that. All the rest of y’all have a groovy weekend too. June with its many gigs is sneaking up so fast….!
The Hare’s Corner out in the UK!
The Hare’s Corner was released in the UK in May 2011. Here’s an initial review at Northern Sky. Send us any reviews you come across!
Weekly Update // 19 May
Hi all! Just a few updates this week, but a note- If you could do us a favor and let us know if the wait time on the site loading is a problem for you that would be great! It does take wee bit of time to load sometimes, especially for new visitors, but it’s worth the wait.
The biggest add is a Discography section. There’s a lovely discography at www.theframes.ie, but we felt it was one thing that was missing from OITS. It’s not done yet, but we’ll be adding the rest asap.
The rest….
+ we added the Glen date for the Pearl Jam Anniversary throw down on Labor Day Weekend in East Troy, WI.
+ scanned set lists from various gigs – 15 feb & 17 feb 2007, 16 july 2007, 3 dec 2010, 7 dec 2010, 31 mar 2011
+ posted a 3 part interview from 2009 with Glen on OneMoreTune.ie in the TV section
+ a great video of the guys doing Bell x1’s Flame from the gig with Bell x1 17 Feb 2007 in The Hague, NL

Also, just today Claire announced that the band Favourite Sons will be supporting both Frames June gigs. Have a good weekend!
Weekly Update // 12 May
In case you haven’t heard, The Frames will be performing at Vicar Street in Dublin on 9 June just a couple of days before their Cork gig! If you’re able to go, get your tickets at www.vicarstreet.com.
It’s been birthday madness up in here the past 3 weeks (including Shannon’s 40th!). This time we’re wishing the endlessly talented Colm Mac Con Iomaire a fantastic birthday next week. Happy birthday Colm! Taurus abounds…
We’ve done a bunch of housekeepin’ around here this last week. We’ve decided to finally add a social sharing feature so you can share pages or blog posts at Facebook or Twitter or via email, etc. Just click on the thingamajigger at the bottom of the page or post.
If you were familiar with the +Content page of the site, we’ve done away with it! Instead, as you browse through the gig listings, you’ll see notes next to the clickable gigs about what’s inside those pages without having to click on them. In addition, we created a page where we’ll list all of the gigs for which we have video of the entire show here.
And more….
+ we got Graham back up on the homepage (always too few photos of drummers!)
+ posted the rest of the Melkweg ’06 videos for a whopping total of 17
+ 2 videos for 29 June 2001 at Valmez Castle (with violinist Jan Hruby) for Czech TV1 in TV section
+ a couple new photos to the Prague Dec 2010 gig
+ posted Glen’s interview at Electric Picnic Sept 2010 to the gig page
+ pro-shot video of Midnight Hour to The Commitments’ Dublin 02 show
+ TV performance of Fake from 6 May 2005 to TV section
Finally, we added a bunch of reviews and photos from the Netherlands from 2005, 2006 and 2007. Thank you Maartje! We’d love to have more non-english press (anything, really) on the site so please send along to us if you know of anything. It would be helpful if you have time to translate, but if not we’ll just use a translator and perhaps come back to you with questions.
