One More For The Road: a short film about Road Records

November 17, 2012

This year found the release of a fantastic short documentary film about Dublin’s legendary, and sadly, shuttered, record shop Road Records.

In 1997 two record shop employees, frustrated with the lack of available vinyl records & inspired by the music being created all around Ireland, decided to open a small independent record shop in Dublin.

Over the course of the next 13 years Road Records became a much-loved fixture in Dublin & gained the attention & trust of the Irish & international music scene, helping many artists to find their feet and grow.

From LastTV – Glen talks about Seven Day Mile

October 12, 2012

Donal Scannell posted to YouTube a great piece he made for a TV show in the 90s called LastTV. He says:

A blast from the 90s! @Last TV was a great RTE 2 show made by Stopwatch TV who were very encouraging regarding ideas. The Singer & The Song was all about focusing on a songwriter and one of their songs. This one on Glen Hansard and The Seven Day Mile was shot in and around Glen’s Mother’s house in Dublin. Directed by Donal Scannell, Shot By Richard Kendrick. Produced by Susan Scannell, Mary Murphy and Tom Johnson.
