2 September 2012 // Stradbally Village, IE // Electric Picnic

Setlist: Love Don’t Leave Me Waiting – Respect (Aretha Franklin), Low Rising – Sexual Healing (Marvin Gaye), Talking with the Wolves, The Storm, It’s Coming, Bird of Sorrow, Astral Weeks (Van Morrison) – Smile (Pearl Jam), This Gift, Songs of Love (The Divine Comedy), Revelate, Fitzcarraldo

Notes: Glen performs a small set early in the day in the Literary Tent. He is joined by Colm and a sax player for Candi Stanton’s ‘Young Hearts Run Free’. Later that night, on the Crawdaddy stage, Glen tells the audience he wants to play a song for them to dance to but since they don’t have many originals like that, he and the boys worked out a song the crowd could waltz to. He urges audience members to take a partner as the band launches into the theme from ‘Father Ted’.

Band: Glen Hansard, Colm Mac Con Iomaire (violin), Joe Doyle (bass), Rob Bochnik (guitar), Graham Hopkins (drums)

Audio: Full show streaming on RTE.
