Notes: Another great audience – very respectful and appreciative. Glen literally barks into the pickup when looping at the end of ‘Leave’. ‘Back Broke’ is stated to be about the nights when you get “really fucking drunk” and there is a fire in you that either “needs to be risen or put out”. It is dedicated to Lilly, a woman who once took Glen home with her, made him a bed and tea after Glen had lost everyone from the band after a drunken night in Hamburg. Glen introduces ‘Santa Maria’ as something they are giving a go and places responsibility for its carriage on Colm and Rob. There is a pause just before ‘Song of Good Hope’ to help someone in the crowd who has collapsed (apparently that is 5 less than the Hamburg show where Glen says 6 people collapsed!) and Glen dedicates the song to the fallen audience member. Simon and Joe do a little tandem two-step dance move during ‘Don’t Do It’. ‘Gold’ and ‘Passing Through’ are performed without microphone, everyone standing at the edge of the stage.

Band: Glen Hansard, Colm Mac Con Iomaire (violin), Joe Doyle (bass), Rob Bochnik (guitar), Graham Hopkins (drums), Justin Carroll (keys)

Brass: Curtis Fowlkes, Michael Buckley, Ronan Dooney

Backup singers: Malu Bremner and Charlotte Blokhuis
